Still the good ones who pay for the bad! (17-10-01)

We hope that the summer has been "long" and beneficial for you and that you start the fall season with lots of projects in mind.

As for us, the summer brought us an unfortunate situation that has led us to put a stop to the sale of gift cards on the web. Our site being more and more popular, we had the visit of wise guys who purchased gift cards using stolen credit cards and, to add insult to injury, they were quick to put them on sales on some discount sites.

Fortunately, our system was able to quickly detect the fraud and those who thought they could get a good deal by buying these have rather had to explain themselves to the police authorities, something that they would probably have preferred to avoid.

Conclusion, the good must unfortunately pay for the bad and, if you wish to buy Norman gift cards in the future, you will have to buy them in one of our three stores.

Thanks for the confidence and enjoy the summer! (17-07-01)

Since 1950, Normand has strived to provide quality products and personalized service allowing us to become a reference in the Canadian woodworking market. Thanks to the collaboration of renowned suppliers, recognized for their reliability, we have been able to continue to stand out over all these years.

It may be a surprise for you to learn that with the exception of the National Bank of Canada, faithful partner from the very beginning, only 4 brands are still part of our original offer: General, Porter-Cable, Simonds and Stanley.

Of course, many of them are missing while others were incorporated into other brands following an acquisition. Times change, habits evolve, but we are always here to serve you. This is another good reason to continue to trust Normand.

The summer vacation period has started and our summer schedule is already in place. If you are in the vicinity of one of our three stores, take the opportunity to stop by and benefit from our exclusive in-store promotions.

During the holiday season, visitors are always welcome!

A new turn for our catalogue The Industrial (17-04-01)

In June 1988, the first NORMAND promotional catalogue was launched, exclusively dedicated to the service of the wood industry.

It was later to become The Industrial, published four times a year in English and French and mailed to more than 10,000 potential buyers working specifically within the Canadian wood industry. Over the years, this publication has become a reference to our manufacturing clientele and we believe that it has helped many companies to become more productive and competitive. This was our way of keeping you up to date on the latest technological developments and informing you about the most recent novelties in the market.

In order to take advantage of the growth in Internet sales, companies have invested a lot of effort and resources in developing the Web, some even abandoning print. We recognize the value and flexibility of the Web and this is why Normand launched its new transactional site (English and French) last September. We keep on adding original content and new products regularly and we see amazing steady growth in results.

However, we still believe in the value of printed material. This year, we offer you an even bigger edition of The Industrial catalogue with relevant information, more products and a longer validity period. Such a tool is designed for the industrial user who does not have time to surf on the Net and wishes to get straight to the point. Only the future will tell whether print catalogs still have their place. Until then, good reading!

Already 4 months and it continues ... (17-01-01)

Last September we launched our new website, without bells and whistles.

"Finally" was the comment that came most often to our ears. We must confess that we have been slow to develop the transactional component. One must remember that Normand is and has always been an industrial distributor with more than 80% of the turnover coming from this sector. However, the continued growth of our retail customers justified this important investment.

As a precautionary measure, we wanted to give ourselves some time to hone and tweak the system before the end of the year. The comments and suggestions received from several of you have allowed us to make some adjustments but, as we move forward, we realize that much remains to be done.

With the beginning of a new year, a good resolution would be to register on normand.ca.  This will ensure you to be the first to be informed on all the novelties that we will have for you throughout the year.

Oh yes..., next time, plan to stop at one of our three stores; it is sometimes much more reassuring to see with his fingers

Welcome to the new Normand site! (16-09-06)

It is with a bit of modesty that we are launching our new website which is intended to be both transactional for our growing do-it-yourself customer base that shops on-line and more informational for our large industrial clientele.

This complete redesign of the site has been on the drawing board for many moons and there was always a “good” reason to delay the outcome. This is, of course, only the beginning and we will continue to feed it with new material during the coming months in order to meet the expectations of the largest amount of end users possible.

For now, we invite you to enjoy this new tool which adds to the range of products and services offered by Normand for more than 65 years.

Thank you for your patience and your continued support.

Welcome to the Normand on-line store

Since 1950, Normand offers the woodworking industry a complete range of quality machinery, tools and supplies. Over the years, we have evolved into an organization with a national scope, becoming one of the most important importer-distributors in Canada.

Continuing our development, we now wish to provide you, the cabinetmaker, contractor and home shop owner with the same accumulated experience and expertise developed through the years, thus helping you realize your dreams and fulfill your passions.

Normand: everything for woodworking and much more...

Great success at WMS-2017 (17-11-10)

Once again this year, Normand participated in the WMS-2017 national Show, the most important industrial fair intended exclusively for the Canadian secondary wood processing industry.

With more than 3,000 square feet of floor space, Normand was again one of the major exhibitors of this biannual exhibition, which was held from November 2 to 4 at the International Center in Toronto.

Showcasing nearly half a million dollars of equipment (4 x 53Ft trailers) and well supported by a team of more than 25 people, Normand caught the attention of the 4 400 visitors who showed up and attracted the interest of many buyers.

The atmosphere was at its best and this event was unquestionably one of the most productive that Normand has participated in recent years.
